Baby, I Love You

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Most of the Asian people I believe do not express their love openly.  It is unlike those “ang mo” that you will always hear them saying “I love you” even when they are talking on the phone perhaps.

We borrowed a book title “Baby, I Love You” from the library the other day.  ZX is asking me eagerly to read it for him before bed time.

So, I started with the title : “Baby, I Love You”.
And he started a question: “Mummy, what is ‘love you’?”

Mummy: “Well, it’s just like … I love baby(little ZX), I love you…” (I wasn’t quite prepare for this question and I admit that this answer is very very lousy.)
ZX (without letting me to finish): “Mummy, I want to love Papa, I want to love baby, I want to love Mummy, I want to love Ah-Jie (Grand-ma), dada (Grand-Pa).” And he indeed mentioned all the people who he knows.

Well, I do think that the everyday-action that I have been doing against our little ZX has shown as an example (at least mummy thought so) to ZX that it is one of the many ways to express our love  to your close one.

To express my love to ZX, I gave him a great big hug before switching his light off for bed.

[Side Note: ZX has been coughing on and off since before CNY, it is really heart breaking when he woke up during mid-night and screamed yesterday while I can’t do anything to help to reduce his pain.  I am a free thinker, but here I sincerely pray to God, Guan-Yin Ma or whoever out there for his good health.]

It's good to get him started on expressing himself like that! :) Trust that he will recover soon under your care.

Hope his cough will go away soon. My son is also having cough on and off...so headache.

Good that your son is asking you question when you read to him. I always said "I LOVE YOU' to my children openly but not to hubby. haha... shy ma.

Hope ZX gets well soon.

He is so cute to say that to u. I think we should be encouraged to express our feelings for our children more often...esp now when they are very receptive and no qualms on saying 'I love you.'

Thank you, daddysgirl78, mnhl, Rachel. He's getting a bit better (less cough at night).

As long as he respects us parents and picks up the positive attitude towards his life, it doesn't matter to me whether if he says "I love you" or not though it's so good to hear that from your close one. :)
